Quit Smoking Drugs
Tuesday, March 6th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedMany smokers around the world turn to quit smoking drugs to get rid of there addiction. Coming in various forms, such medicines must not be administered without the doctor’s advice or recommendation, and only after the smoker has done some health tests. Some of the most used quit smoking drugs are Wellbutrin, Welplex, Varenicline, Chantix and some others. What they have in common is that they are said to cure not only physical addiction, but psychological addiction as well. That’s why these quit smoking drugs were created like nicotine craving inhibitors at the level of the brain receptors.
Wellbutrin is an antidepressant and is quite known on the market as an efficient quit smoking drug. It is nicotine free, but it is usually recommended in association with nicotine patches, inhalers or nicotine chewing gum. It reduces significantly the withdrawal symptoms, but a treatment with Wellbutrin and nicotine based drugs should be followed by a period when the doses of nicotine is decreased progressively in order to leave the body addiction free. The administration on Wellbutrin is an option worth considering if you make personal efforts to give up smoking as well.
Maybe one of the most efficient quit smoking drugs is Welplex. It is a three-dose free nicotine shot that blocks the nicotine receptors in the brain. It can only be administered with the doctor’s approval, and only by a doctor. The very next day after taking the Welplex shot, you are supposedly addiction free. Smokers who underwent Welplex treatment declared that they felt no nicotine craving, and if they tried to smoke, the cigarette felt horrible. This shot also leaves you withdrawal symptoms free. In order for people not to get smoking again, it is advisable that special counseling or behavior courses should be attended.
Varenicline is another much acclaimed quit smoking drug, it is first known in a class of selective nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. It attaches to the brain receptor and leaves no space for the nicotine to bind. A quit smoking drug varenicline based is Chantix which contains varenicline tartrate especially designed for smoking mothers or for youngsters under eighteen. Treatment with Chantix is twelve week long, and it should be sustained by counseling. Chantix acts at the same sites in the brain as nicotine does, that’s why it may leave the smoker with two sensations; either one similar to nicotine which eases the withdrawal effects, or blocking these nicotine effects should they resume smoking.
There may be many quit smoking drugs on the market, but there is none like personal will and determination. The success of all therapies, chemical or alternative, depends on this one most important factor. If you expect everything from a quit smoking drug you may fail in the process and get to the bad habit again. So positive thinking and a proper way of life can only ease the coming back to normal process.
