What Is A Quit Smoking Support Groups

How many times do you think people have made a decision on new years day to quit or cut down on smoking? I think almost all of us have at some stage thought I should quit smoking as a new years resolution. However it’s the most effective way to quit smoking. Believe it or not we need some kind of support or support group to help us through this difficult stage of our lives. It takes a good support group or a bunch of understand friends to help you through it.

With some many alternative methods out there and trying them all you need to realize that it’s not the products or the techniques it’s the mind. If you really want to quit smoking you’ll give it 110% of your efforts and you’ll try everything from hypnotherapy to support groups and nicotine patches.

The first step to going to a support group to quit smoking is to find one. Try your local community centers even your youth centers. When you do find one try to find a buddy that has already quit or is as eager as you are. What you want to do is find a buddy that you can call when you need to smoke or having trouble coping with it.

Another great way to stop smoking is keep occupied at least keep your mind from thinking about smoking. Find a hobby that you can really indulge in such as small figure painting, drawing, and carpentry, anything that’s hands on and will involve you to think. You want to do something with your hands so you can stop yourself from smoking.

And remember when you have made the decision to quit smoking for good, tell everyone you know and tell them to support you so that you have a better chance of quitting. If you’re serious enough you can get through it. Just tell yourself you’re going to make it. If you wake up everyday, look yourself in the mirror and say “I’m so happy I’ve quit smoking and I’ve found a good support group” ten times in a row and mean it for the next 30 days, you’ll find that you’re reprogramming your subconscious mind to stop. Give it a try it’s a quick tip that can really help you when you’re starting out.
